Why Usability is Crucial to Your Website

Okay the reason I want to explore Website Usability with you is because, how people feel about your brand and products or services is of course very important.

And weather you realize it or not, Website Usability can positively or negatively affect a person’s feelings towards your company.

I have seen a person during a website usability test exclaim that they “hate the company” and that they would never “do business with them” all because they found working with the website too frustrating.

The issue found here is something Google takes serious enough to suspend a site form its Adwords Campaign.

Live Website Review

OK here we go this is when I found this morning so it’s my dad’s birthday coming up, its a big one we’ve got friends and family coming in from out of town, he will not let me say in this video how old he is going to be so sorry about that haha.

So I was thinking I would it be cool to maybe have a banner printed out  “Happy Birthday Dad”

So I printed a banner a long time ago, I think it was with the ink jet printer don’t remember anyway so I did the search for “printing a banner with a laser printer” and the first thing that came up of course is an ad with “Banners Starting at $9.99″ that’s probably cheaper than that I am then going out and buying the paper and printing it in myself.

So I clicked on the ad and cool the landing page is about banners, good.  Well the page says “banners starting at $13.34” hmmm wait a minute, where is the $9.99 from the ad? So I scroll down here some more 20 x 36” banner $13.34. So scrolling down more I don’t see $9.99. I look in the pricing and specifications and not to be found.

So I go back up to the top of the page and do a search for $9.99 and look there’s nothing on this website that’s $9.99.

So what does this mean and how do I feel about this? I need either the ad is wrong, or the landing page is wrong or, it’s a con job to get me to click, hopping I’ll still buy from them? Well if it is a mistake, does that mean that they’re going to make a mistake with my printing too?

So how does that make you feel or me feel right? So I start to have second thoughts this company. So presumably and I will the “Get started” button I can do what I want to do which is order a banner. But what about this user experience but it’s also now, will I now place an order? Have they done something that’s going to make me not want to do business with them, there’s a good chance I may go back to my original page and figure out how to print a banner myself.

So the other important point I mentioned is a conflict with the Google Ads Policy.

I did a search for Google Ads Policy and I figured out that Misrepresentation will be what I’m looking for from everything here on the right.

Scrolling down and found Unavailable Offers which reads:

Examples: Promoting products that are not stocked; promoting a deal that is no longer active; promoting a price that is inaccurate; call-to-action in the ad that isn’t easily available from the landing page

Specific example: Ad reads “Buy tablets from $40,” but upon clicking on the ad, the user finds no tablets available for purchase at $40

So here we are there is a clear violation of the Google’s Adwords Policy so our friends here at Vista Print are or not only making the user unhappy, but you could make the big G unhappy too.

En général, le bus est une assez bonne alternative bien que cela implique souvent de prendre un métro pour aller plus loin dans la ville.

Puisque nos bureaux sont si près de la gare de Beaconsfield (7 minutes à pied), j’ai jeté un œil aux horaires des trains en gare Lucien L’Allier à Montréal qui vont et viennent vers nos cours SEO de Beaconsfield pour voir si c’était commode, et j’ai été agréablement surpris de constater que oui !

Départ du centre-ville à 7:50 et arrivée à Beaconsfield à 8:20.

Départ de Beaconsfield à  17:12 et arrivée au centre-ville à 17:45.

Chaque trajet coûte à peu près 6$ – il est plus facile de se procurer des billets en gare Lucien L’Allier.

Il y a ensuite 7 minutes à pied jusqu’à nos bureaux, et si la porte qui donne sur la Amherst Road est ouverte, c’est encore plus rapide (les 8 minutes de marche indiquées sur la carte Google sont incorrectes).

Par mauvais temps, nous nous arrangeons pour venir vous chercher et vous ramener à la gare.

La gare Lucien L’Allier fait aussi partie de la ligne orange du réseau de métro de Montréal, ce qui facilite encore l’accès.

Venir en VOITURE à Beaconsfield

Nous sommes à moins d’un quart d’heure de route (17,4 km ou 10,8 miles) de l’Aéroport international Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau de Montréal (anciennement Aéroport de Dorval).

Nous sommes à 30-45 minutes de route (28 km or 17,4 miles) du centre-ville de Montréal.

Venir en TRAIN à Beaconsfield

Nous sommes à 5 minutes à pied de la gare de Beaconsfield – par mauvais temps nous nous arrangeons pour passer vous prendre.

Le trajet est simple et ne dure que 30 minutes depuis le centre-ville de Montréal vers notre emplacement à Beaconsfield.

Le point de départ depuis le ventre-ville est la gare Lucien L’Allier (sur la ligne orange du métro) jusqu’à la gare de Beaconsfield.

Vers Beaconsfield – le train quitte Lucien L’Allier à 7:50 et arrive à 8:20 en gare de Beaconsfield.

Vers le centre-ville de Montréal – le train quitte la gare de Beaconsfield à 17:12 pour arriver à Montréal à 17:45 en gare Lucien L’Allier

METRO & TRAIN vers Beaconsfield

Prendre la ligne orange jusque Lucien L’Allier puis prendre le train comme expliqué plus haut.

BUS (& METRO) vers Beaconsfield/strong>

Le bus 211 s’arrête à 5 minutes à pied de nos bureaux de Beaconsfield, voici les directions est (de Montréal à Beaconsfield) et ouest (de Beaconsfield à Montréal) :

With the current traffic tie ups in Montreal due to road work I have been taking allot more public transport to and from Downtown Montreal.

Train travel is my favorite although while the times are not always the most convenient as there is certainly a lack of trains at off peak hours.

Our office is only a 7 minute walk to the Beaconsfield Train Station.

So I thought I would have a look at the timing of the train to and from Lucien L’Allier Station in Montreal to our Beaconsfield SEO Courses to see if it was convenient and was pleasantly surprised that it is!

Train departs Downtown 7:50 AM & arriving in Beaconsfield at 8:20 AM.

Train departs Beaconsfield  5:12 PM & arriving in Downtown at 5:45 PM.

The cost is around $6 in each direction – its easiest to buy your tickets for both directions at the Lucien L’Allier Station downtown.

It is then a 7 minute walk to our building if the back door on Amherst Road is open it’s even faster (the 8 minute walk on the Google map below is messed up).

If the weather is bad we will make arrangements to drive you to or from the station.

The Montreal Lucien L’Allier Station is also on the Orange Line of the Montreal Metro making access.

Of course there are other stops along the way:

Lachine 8:08 AM
Dorval 8:11 AM

DRIVE to Beaconsfield

We are less than 15 minutes drive (17.4km or 10.8 miles) from the Montreal – Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport (formerly Dorval Airport).

We are 30-45 minutes drive (28km or 17.4 miles) from Downtown Montreal.

TRAIN Montreal to Beaconsfield

We are a 5 minute walk from the Beaconsfield Train Station – if its really bad weather we can arrange to pick you up.

It is a easy 30 minute train ride to and from Downtown Montreal & our Beaconsfield location.

the departure point form Downtown Montreal is the Lucien L’Allier Station (on the Orange Metro Line) to the Beaconsfield Train Station.

To Beaconsfield – The train departs Lucien L’Allier at 7:50 AM and arrives 8:20 AM at the Beaconsfield Train Station.

To Downtown Montreal – The train departs Beaconsfield Train Station 5:12 PM to return to Montreal for 5:45 PM at the Lucien L’Allier Station.

METRO & TRAIN to Beaconsfield

Take the Orange line to the Lucien L’Allier Station and take the train as noted above.

BUS (& METRO) to Beaconsfield
